Care
A distinctive and positive feature of Yorkshire Terriers is that they do not shed, well, or practically do not shed, unlike most other dog breeds. However, Yorkies are not very easy to care for.
Although Yorkshire Terrier puppies do not need a lot of grooming early in their life, it is best to start teaching your little Yorkie to grooming procedures from puppyhood.
It usually takes about 6 months for a Yorkie puppy to grow long hair. In order for the coat of the Yorkshire Terrier, more like hair, to become silky and straighter, it must be looked after.
It can take a long time to care for this breed. If the Yorkie does not participate in exhibitions, then it can be cut.
In order for the Yorkshire Terrier's coat to look well-groomed, it must be brushed almost daily. It will not be superfluous to use a special oil for hair care. The oil protects the coat and prevents tangling.
For bathing your Yorkshire Terrier, it's important to use a special conditioner, or at least a moisturizing shampoo. It is advisable to wash your Yorkie at least once a week.
Yorkshire Terrier does not need a lot of physical activity, but he loves to walk very much.
He needs to devote a lot of attention and time to games that suit his movement needs well.
Provide your Yorkie with toys, although he certainly loves most of all games in which his owner participates.
Note
Yorkshire Terriers do not tolerate cold well, so they need to be dressed in rainy and cold weather.
Since these are very small and fragile dogs, they should be protected from injury.
You should not allow uncontrolled contact of Yorkshire Terriers with small domestic animals: hamsters, rabbits and guinea pigs.
This breed is practically non-shedding and therefore may be suitable for people with pet allergies.
In view of the great popularity of the Yokshire Terriers, it is better to always keep these dogs within sight. A large number of Yorkshire Terrier owners were unable to get their pets back because they were lost or stolen.
