French Bulldog: character and price
The French Bulldog, also called French Bulldog, is a pet dog breed developed in France and belonging to the Molossian family. It is a dog with a strong bone structure and powerful musculature, enclosed in a small body.
If at first glance his appearance as a little Hercules could be misleading and not seem reassuring, it is just an appearance. This dog is in fact very docile and cheerful, he knows how to keep company and have fun on every occasion. He adores and protects his master, but establishes a beautiful relationship of friendship and sympathy with the whole family, from small children to the elderly. Let's get to know him a little more.
The French Bulldog is a breed selected and brought up to current standards in France. It was recognized by the FCI in the early 1900s. However, there is a bit of uncertainty about the true origins, as according to the British it would descend from the English Bulldog. This thesis has long been opposed by the French who instead considered this breed native.
Today the diatribe would be overcome as much because, if it is admissible to think that the French bulldog descends from the English one, it is equally true that the definition of the breed (from the crosses with small Terriers to the exaltation of the innate characteristics) of this small Molosser occurred in all effects in France. And it is in this country that this small pet has enjoyed considerable success that has made it famous even overseas.
Character and habits

The French Bulldog is a small, but very muscular and strong companion dog. It is a Molosser, so it takes the typical features of its ancestors, however in a miniaturized form.
The head is strong, square and brachycephalic, in fact the width prevails over the length. The skull is broad, a characteristic which also applies to the short nasal bridge and the very short nose. The latter, together with the rather evident and symmetrical wrinkles, gives the classic flattened appearance. The forehead is convex. The ears are fun to look at, with that high set. They are carried straight and are also referred to as a bat.
The rump of the French Bulldog remains a little higher than the body, as the hind limbs are slightly longer than the front ones. The limbs must be perfectly straight. The tail is set low and is typically short, it can be twisted or truncated.

As with all small dogs it is essential not to overindulge in food to prevent them from becoming obese. In the case of the French bulldog, he is also lazy and loves to sleep for most of the day, so it is even more preferable to regulate the amount of food based on physical activity.
Nutrition must be well balanced, with the right balance of carbohydrates, proteins and vitamins. You can choose dry food or a home diet, but it is always preferable to talk to your trusted veterinarian.
Longevity
The life expectancy of the French bulldog is around 09-11 years .
Health
Regarding the health of the French Bulldog it is important to remember that it is a short-nosed dog and, like all dogs with these characteristics, it could have respiratory problems. Moreover, he suffers a lot from the heat and, despite his cheerfulness and his desire to play, he should never be left under the sun thinking that it will please him. He could be very sick. In the case of a litter, it is essential to know that for female French Bulldogs a caesarean section is very often performed because natural birth is very difficult.
The French Bulldog is certainly not a delicate dog, just follow these few rules for a happy coexistence and always keep his eyes very clean. In the summer months, it is advisable to clean the coat frequently as well. Neutral and never aggressive detergents are recommended. Also beware of external parasites such as fleas and ticks.
Advice
Although this amiable concentrate of muscles has a really good character it is important to think about his education right away. The puppy must be accustomed to contact and helped to integrate into the new family, communicating immediately what the hierarchies are.
Training a French bulldog is not always easy, it is in fact a stubborn dog and you must not give in to all its requests. A sweet upbringing will create the right relationship of trust to make him calm and obedient at the same time.
